Agot, Williams Lead Chargers in Wins at Sauk Valley Classic

DIXON — The Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team picked up a pair of victories Saturday at the Sauk Valley Classic, beating Eureka JV 81-67 before rallying for a 79-72 win over Prairie State.

Matt Williams (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame) tied for game-high honors with 18 points to lead the Chargers against the Red Devils. Sandburg led 37-35 at halftime before outscoring Eureka JV 44-32 in the second half.

Atem Agot (East Moline, Ill./United Township) added 15 points in the win for the Chargers.

Agot added 15 to lead Sandburg in a come-from-behind effort against Prairie State. The Pioneers led 33-31 at the break before Sandburg (3-1) outscored them 48-39 in the second half. Williams had another double-digit effort, totaling 14 points.
